.fi is the country domain used in Finland. Across 100,516 .fi addresses verified by BounceZero between April and October 2026, 4.6% were invalid, 0.2% catch-all, 22.1% unknown and 59.6% confirmed valid. Catch-all and unknown together mean a large share cannot be confirmed.
The .fi row is all 100,516 addresses verified in the six months to October 2026; the other rows are the benchmarks from the same corpus. Risky and role results fill each row to 100%.
| Segment | Addresses | Invalid | Catch-all | Unknown | Confirmed valid |

Non-freemail includes consumer ISP mailboxes; a business-only cut is on the benchmarks page. Method and every other cut: Lead List Quality Benchmarks 2026. Risky and role on the .fi row: 13.6%.
Finnish lists are small and carry a high share of deferring consumer gateways, so unknowns are common.
Finnish lists are small and consumer-heavy, with Elisa's luukku.com the dominant mailbox, and the gateways defer probes often enough that unknowns are common. Finland applies the EU rules with consent for individuals and a legitimate-interest route for business contacts. The business domains that appear in Finnish lists verify well; the consumer mailboxes do not, and the split should be made before any sending decision. Finnish company domains on .fi verify cleanly and are mostly hosted on Microsoft, with Google a distant second. The consumer side is small in absolute numbers but large in share on any list compiled from directories of sole traders. Finland's marketing rules allow business email to a role-appropriate work address with an opt-out, so the company-domain share is the one worth building sequences on.
On confirmed-invalid rate, .fi ranks 20 of 23 country domains in the corpus, just behind .at at 8.5%, ahead of .be at 4.6%.
On unknown rate, .fi ranks 8 of 23 country domains in the corpus, just behind .in at 22.7%, ahead of .gov at 22.1%.
On confirmed-valid share, .fi ranks 5 of 23 country domains in the corpus, just behind .com at 59.7%, ahead of .br at 58.5%.
How to read these rates: they are BounceZero's probe outcomes on customer lists over April to October 2026, not a census of .fi mailboxes. Unknown and catch-all measure what verification could not confirm, which depends on the provider's gateway policy during the window as much as on the addresses. The lists are the ones customers chose to upload, so segments dominated by a few large uploads carry their age and source. Method and limitations: benchmarks page.
About one in 5 .fi addresses cannot be confirmed either way. That is gateway behaviour, not a verdict; route those contacts to phone or LinkedIn and re-check after a week.
At 4.6%, .fi loses fewer addresses to hard failures than almost any segment; the ones that fail are typos and closed accounts.
Catch-all is negligible on .fi (0.2%); when this provider does return valid, the mailbox accepted the probe itself rather than a blanket accept.
59.6% of .fi addresses confirmed as deliverable at verification time and can go straight to the primary sequence, with a re-check before every send.
Route unknowns to phone or LinkedIn. Finnish B2B contacts are reachable; consumer mailboxes less so.
Role addresses such as info@ and sales@ make up 2.9% of .fi addresses in the corpus. Role addresses rarely reach a person; prefer named contacts.
4.6% of 100,516 .fi addresses verified by BounceZero between April and October 2026 were confirmed invalid, against 14.5% across non-freemail domains and 17.6% across freemail.
22.1%. Unknown means the mailbox could not be confirmed either way, usually because the gateway deferred the probe. BounceZero refunds unknown results; re-check after a week or use a second channel.
Not in practice: 0.2% of .fi addresses returned catch-all, so a valid verdict means the mailbox exists.
59.6% confirmed valid at verification time. Keep bounces under 2% and complaints under 0.3% on the send, and re-verify the segment before every send.
